Good Read!
The author has very nicely and boldly narrated the struggles of boys who were forced to become Taliban soldiers and the political developments in Pakistan, the love story of Raza and Parveen. Antara, India
Eye-opening and bittersweet
The glimpses of politics, societal dynamics, human interaction and relationships are eye-opening and thought-provoking for me, albeit depressing. Sathepine, USA
Very topical for the current climate
The stark contrast between Raza’s life, and the entitled American reporter, Rachel, is portrayed well, and reveals the depth of this story with compassion and humanity. Sassy Brit, UK
A mind opener! MUST read
The shifts in narrator conveys the author’s amazing capacity to delve into the mind of a man or woman, entwined in the web of war, unraveling the fear, love, and passion we can grasp universally. A MUST read. Liese A. Ricketts, USA

The lives of the subcontinent entangled forever!
The book reminds us of so many people who are stuck in situations and they are just a fugitive on a poster for the rest of the world to see and no one knows what happened with them. Sukaina Majeed, India
Highly recommended!
There was so much I appreciated about this book, alongside the story itself. JAH, USA
Intriguing
The author did an amazing job of creating a story that is historical, fiction, and yet, full of facts. The book highlights conflicts, cultural clashes, religious issues, blurry borders, etc., and the history of the three countries, and how all lead characters’ lives were entangled in “Entangled Lives”. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Books are my favorite human beings!, India
A brilliantly uncomfortable read
Omer’s is deft yet with a nice delicacy that means he never hammers home his ideas or feels as though he is trying to hard to educate his readers. Instead I appreciated feeling as though I had space to make up my own mind. Stephanie Jane (Literary Flits), UK
Compelling story
Entangled Lives grabbed my attention from the first page and made me want to read until the book was finished. The characters jumped off the pages of the book. Kathy L., USA
Behind the inflammatory headlines lies a tragic reality
This wonderful book puts into perspective exactly who the enemy is, and it is not the young man or woman forced into situations over which they have no control. The Elite Book Group, UK
Excellent (recent) historical fiction
The story of Raza, the Pakistani forced into fighting for the Taliban and Rachel, the American journalist with her own set of problems is a forceful depiction of life and humanity. Myron, USA
The human cost of war
Entangled Lives brings alive the war in Afghanistan through the well drawn characters. It is a haunting story. TVA7321, USA
A passionate and insightful novel
Having grown up in the US, my exposure to events surrounding the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan was limited to what I heard and read in the American press. Reading Entangled Lives was an eye-opening experience for me. Craig Reubelt, USA
Realities of the Taliban
Very well written and I recommend reading it, but a word of caution, the incidents of brutality are not for the faint hearted. Amazon Customer, USA
Extremely unique point-of-view in this historical fiction work
Entangled Lives has been the most diverse and unique read of this year for me. Overall, I’m glad I read this book because it gave me a perspective of a world I otherwise might not have learned much about. Fictionaltiff, USA

Kudos to Imran Omer – he has the audacity to take the perspective of a Taliban fighter (of course not to absolve him from his crimes, but to shine a light on his perceptions) and to confront Western readers with the historic realities of people living in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Endlesscribbles
An emotional read that will keep thinking and rightly so.
Marialyce
Frightening, although a work of fiction, this story about a young boy trained to be an ISIS fighter, was not only well written but mesmerizing.
Jill Dobbe
An emotional and at times, heartbreaking read that will keep you thinking.
